Michael A. Braun Managing Partner mb@spectregi.com Retired from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as Assistant Administrator and Chief of Operations (SES-6) in 2008 after serving a 33-year law enforcement career. Mr. Braun had responsibility for DEA's 227 domestic and 87 foreign offices, Aviation Division, Office of Financial Operations, Special Operations Division and the Office of Diversion Control. He had oversight responsibility for all of DEA’s operational programs and projects in Afghanistan from 2004 through October 2008, and was the architect of the DEA’s recent significant expansion in Afghanistan. He also served as DOD's Chief of Staff for the Interim Ministry of Interior, Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq. View our In the News Section for Statements of Record made by Michael Braun.

 

Harold D. (Doug) Wankel Managing Partner dw@spectregi.com Has a 28-year career in law enforcement and retired as DEA Chief of Operations in 1996 (SES-6).  He re-entered government service in 2003 to serve as the agency’s Chief of Intelligence (SES-6).  Mr. Wankel also served as the U.S. ‘Drug Czar’ in Afghanistan from 2004 through 2007, reporting directly to two Ambassadors during that period. Mr. Wankel has over 11 years of service in Afghanistan and Pakistan, including service as the DEA Country Attaché in Afghanistan from 1978 through 1979, and has developed and maintains close relations with a number of high level Afghan political and government figures at both the capital and provincial levels. He continues to reside and function as the Spectre Country Manager for Afghanistan where he implements and supervises Spectre’s projects and initiatives in the country with a staff of eight vetted Afghan nationals.  

 

Michael J. McManamon Partner mmcmanamon@spectregi.com Retired from the U.S. Drug Enforcement (DEA) in 2010 after serving 27 years in a variety of domestic, foreign and headquarters assignments.  Mr. McManamon served as the first DEA agent to conduct operations throughout Central Asia and Eastern Europe in the early 1990's.  He also served for 6 years as the Country Attaché of the DEA Office at the US Embassy in London, responsible for joint intelligence and operational programs with counterparts in the United Kingdom. He concluded his DEA career at DEA's Special Operations Division, where he managed the section with responsibility for Europe, Asia and Africa.  Mr. McManamon has conducted and lectured at training programs throughout the world, with a focus on Africa, Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia.

 

Cortney Brown President Spectre Gobal Solutions cbrown@spectregi.com Specializes in Financial and Intelligence Operations to counter the global illicit economy and terrorist financing.  Ms. Brown's background includes corporate litigation, criminal investigations, and operational and intelligence support to Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU) and the U.S Drug Enforcement Administration, Special Operations Division (SOD).  Ms. Brown is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), and maintains a TS-SCI clearance.  

 

James M. Mortson, MBA, CPA Chief Financial Officer jmortson@spectregi.com SGI's Chief Financial Officer has served in a variety of consulting and financial executive roles with private and public firms serving agencies of the federal government.  Mr. Mortson holds an MBA in Finance from The George Washington University School of Business and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Virginia Society of CPAs

Elizabeth Miller, Director of Corporate and Business Development emiller@spectregi.com SGI's Director of Corporate and Business Development brings over twenty-five years of strategic business development, program planning and managment experience with an emphasis on federal law enforcement, justice, environmental and commercial markets.

 

Richard (Ric) Humphries Director, Human Resources rhumphries@spectregi.com As the Director of Human Resources, Ric is responsible for leading SGI's global HR development and supporting all corporate efforts.  Mr. Humpries has over ten years of HR experience in both CONUS and OCONUS arenas.  Mr. Humpries is a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

 

Juliana Ehrlich, SPHR Human Resources jehrlich@spectregi.com Juliana specializes in HR Management and has held the Senior Professional of Human Resources Certification for the past 6 years.  Ms. Ehrlich is an active member in local and national HR Organizations and is actively involved in continuing education and staying abreast of changes in the HR Arena.  Ms. Ehrlich also has extensive experience in Employee Benefits, Company Policy, Employee Relations and other HR areas of interest.

 

Roy Wuchitech General Counsel rwuchitech@spectregi.com A member of the California, Virginia and District of Columbia Bar Associations,  Roy Wuchitech served in a variety of legal capacities in both the public and private sectors.  As an equity partner in a major international law firm, he managed the firm’s environmental and Federal  Base Realignment and Closure practice groups.  A three time appointee to the federal Senior Executive Service, he initially  served as Deputy General Counsel  and later Acting General Counsel of the United States Air Force. His last appointment was as Deputy General Counsel, Department of Defense where he was awarded the Secretary of Defense medal for outstanding public service.
